The Engineering Access data contains details of planned engineering works.
These fall into two parts, normal running and engineering work.
- Section 4 items are built into the regular timetable, and these will affect 'WTT' planned services on OTT & RTT etc, and any diversions resulting are typically noted in PSUL.
- Section 5 indicates variations on the standard blockages in any week, and are deviations from WTT. These are usually late night and may also be noted in WEEKEND if adding a rare route. It is worth noting that these can also 'undivert' from the Section 4 plan, a common example being the ECML late night retimings for trains to Leeds and York.
- Section 7 is the intended weekend works, of which around 90% will actually happen on any one weekend. That is why the most recent files have 'superceded by CPPP' as an overprint.
The Section 7 works are typically those listed in the WEEKEND posting to the GENSHEET list as they result in diversions or unusual turnback moves.
Generally if a section 7 item here does happen, the detailed planning advised is what happens. There will though usually be some additional and some cancelled works.
